John Wesley, the English evangelist and theologian, said this about prayer, “God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it.” For the last 60 years, Teen Challenge of Southern California has brought freedom and healing to tens of thousands of men and women trapped in substance abuse, and restoration to their families and loved ones. This miraculous movement of the Holy Spirit has only occurred because people chose to get on their knees and pray; believing God for the impossible.
To celebrate our 60th year as a ministry we’ve put together a 60-day prayer campaign, and it begins on November 1st, 2023. You can download the calendar here.
Prayer points include expressing our thankfulness to God and celebrating His goodness to this ministry over the last 60 years, wisdom and guidance for TCSC’s Leadership team, that addicts would find lasting freedom here, that God would strengthen and provide for all the needs of our partners and supporters, and for new outreach opportunities. Other prayer points include open doors and favor in new ministry initiatives, restoring and healing in marriages, and protection over our campuses.
In 2022, 107,081 people died from a drug overdose in the United States. That’s more than the entire Rose Bowl Stadium at full capacity. If you count the last three years, that number jumps to over 300,000. Imagine the entire population of Irvine, CA, gone … forever. It is only through God’s divine resource of prayer that we will blunt and turn back the destructive plans of the evil one and see life-transformation and revival break out in our communities.
Will you join us as we call out to God in this urgent hour?
This ministry was birthed in prayer, has been sustained in prayer, and will only continue to flourish in prayer.
Thank you for standing with us and God bless you as you pray,
Ron Brown
Executive Director, TCSC
