“There was a time when I felt like dying and I didn’t know where to turn.” – Walter

Walter took his first hit of cocaine at the age of 14. “I was hooked instantly,” he said. Nothing could break his addiction—not even the several rehabilitation programs he tried. After 14 years, Walter lost everything and was one step away from being homeless.

“There was a time when I felt like dying and I didn’t know where to turn,” he said. Then he found Teen Challenge.

Teen Challenge helped Walter build a Christian foundation that would keep him strong. At Teen Challenge, Walter learned that through Jesus, he could stand firm and overcome dependence on the drugs that had ruled his life for years.

“I was so grateful to be there,” Walter said. “I surrendered my heart to Jesus the day I came to Teen Challenge—and I never looked back.” Walter graduated from Teen Challenge in 1992 and is now senior pastor of a growing church.
