Freedom and Hope: Brad’s story
At a casual party in 1984, a roommate offered Brad some speed—and his life was never the same again. Before long, a vial of meth became his constant companion and Brad found himself getting high every day, even at work.
This is his story of a life made new.
When Brad’s sister suggested he try Teen Challenge, he didn’t want anything to do with a one-year residential program. But later, alone in his apartment, he realized he’d already lost everything and maybe he had nothing left to lose. He prayed in desperation and sensed that God responded, “Brad, this is the answer to the prayer you prayed last night. You’d better take advantage of it because it’s the last opportunity I’m going to give you.”
Brad took the warning to heart, dropped to his knees and accepted Christ as his savior. Then he called his sister and said he’d go. That was twenty years ago. Brad entered Teen Challenge three weeks later and graduated from the program in 1998.
Today Brad is the Administrator of Timothy House, our home for teen boys struggling with addiction and other life-controlling issues.
