Jeff found himself in jail. Again.
He’d exchanged the values he’d learned in a Christian home for a lifestyle centered in defiance and rebellion. He ran with new friends in a world centered around skateboarding. For him, it was a path that eventually led to a steady stream of drug use and bad decisions.
“I’m a person that people feel they need to keep locked in a cage,” he thought from his cell, and the gravity of his situation finally began to dawn on him. In jail, he read these words: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
For the first time, those words began to make sense. “I’m a sinner and need God in my life.” Even though he’d always thought of himself as a Christian he reached out to God in a new way. And something happened.
Jeff now serves at our men’s Christian Life Training Center in Riverside, CA. Teaching men how to live and make right choices. Through Jeff’s willingness to say “yes” to the call of God, men are impacted daily.
Teen Challenge was able to offer this help to Jeff at no cost to himself. Through the faithful support of our donors, we can continue to offer a place for those needing the transforming grace of God, redemption, and freedom that is found in Christ.
There is an overwhelming amount of people needing recovery from substance abuse in our country today. With the opioid crisis affecting so many families, Teen Challenge has been committed to serving these individuals, sharing the love of God, and proclaiming the good news to the lost.
Would you consider giving a gift to help the next “Jeff” coming through our doors today? Your decision can affect thousands of lives today.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
