Elizabeth Goodban’s Story
Even though Elizabeth had been raised in a Christian home, she decided to go her own way and follow the party crowd. When she graduated from high school, she felt free to do whatever she wanted. Unfortunately, that included more poor decisions.
She had two children over the next few years but this did not slow her partying down. Elizabeth’s dad and step-mom volunteered to help with her two children, but for Elizabeth, it completely changed her outlook on life.
“Another identity was stripped from me, now I wasn’t a mom. I was just a drug addict.”
But there came a day when Elizabeth reached her limit. “I looked around in a room full of people I didn’t know and I just knew I didn’t want to be there any longer.”
Thankfully, Teen Challenge was there for her.“Teen Challenge means a new beginning, it means life, and I’ll be forever grateful that God used Teen Challenge to save my family.”
Elizabeth entered Teen Challenge in 2012. After graduating from the one-year program, she went through the Teen Challenge Ministry Institute and now is working full-time as a staff member at Ventura Teen Challenge.
Because Teen Challenge of Southern California is completely donor-supported, this wouldn’t be possible without your support. Your donations help pay expenses so students like Elizabeth can focus on recovering from addiction and putting their lives back together. Thank you for your generosity and support.
