NEW LIFE EXPANSION

ADDICTION IS REAL. WE HAVE THE ANSWER.

The opioid crisis. Cannabis legalization. Methamphetamine abuse. Alcoholism….A crisis of addiction has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. Of the 3 million registered drug addicts in California, more than 70% reside in SoCal.

Our goal is to reach every addict with a message of hope. The New Life Expansion Initiative is a plan that will enable us to strengthen our current operations and broaden the reach of our various ministries. A key priority is to reach communities that are underserved or currently untouched by the addiction-recovery ministry of Teen Challenge. This includes the Antelope Valley, Coachella Valley, California’s Central Coast and other areas.

The New Life Expansion Initiative contains five initial components:

OUTREACH MINISTRIES
Our goal is to train, equip, and dispatch outreach teams into unserved or underserved areas to locate individuals and families who have been unable to either find or afford the help they desperately need.

PREVENTION | INTERVENTION
As a missional movement, we intensely see the need to broaden our outreach efforts and bring substance abuse education both to families in need and to communities that are economically depressed. We will accomplish this by sharing the hope of the gospel in tangible, face-to-face ministry opportunities. These include after-school learning centers, anti-gang and drug prevention presentations, street rallies, music concerts, back-to-school backpack giveaways and other ways in which we can partner with local communities.

LONG-TERM RESIDENTIAL RECOVERY CENTERS
We plan to strengthen the training and discipleship programs currently in use at our nine residential recovery centers. Our vision is to also open additional residential recovery centers in the unserved and underserved areas of Southern California.

VICTORIOUS LIVING | TRANSITIONAL HOUSING
Our goal is to acquire additional properties to house recent graduates of our Teen Challenge long-term residential recovery program. This will allow us to provide a safe, Christ-filled environment while these alumni secure employment and re-enter mainstream society.

LIVING FREE | NON-RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM
There are thousands of people across Southern California who are struggling with addiction and for some reason are not able to enter our residential program. To best reach these people, our goal is to significantly increase the number of locations where our Living Free nonresidential program is available. We also plan to offer training to local churches and community organizations who wish to establish this hope-filled ministry alongside the good work they are already doing.

Living Free is a nine-week, nonresidential program that gives people struggling with addiction and their families an opportunity to get help and connect with each other in a safe environment. Living Free provides hope through a Bible-based curriculum to help individual participants set clear boundaries of conduct to encourage sobriety and develop better decision-making skills. What makes this program work is the intentional creation of community support so those affected will know that they’re not alone.

HELP US MAKE A GREATER DIFFERENCE

Expanding our ministry to meet these critical needs will require time, focus, commitment, prayer, and like-minded partners. We believe it’s worth every bit of effort to see lives saved and families restored.

TCSC’s New Life Expansion team will come alongside church groups and local organizations who want to lift up their community and see a real change. Our objective is to join forces to help strengthen the works that are already in place and implement new ideas as well as methods that have proven to be effective at Teen Challenge for more than 60 years.
